Hello good Mini people

as I struggle along with my rebuild (over in the saloon section 'Project W'), I find more and more broken parts, haha

anyhoo I took the fuel pump assembly out of the tank, and it's as dead as a parrot

I see pumps on the auction sites which require rewiring I guess

anybody had a successful swap out and has some pix of the work done or has any particular recommendations

I really can't affor a whole new unit right now

thanks for looking

From my collection of "What fits according to the internet".... The  Chevy part is a direct fit for the fuel filter from personal experience. I do not know how good the pump substitution is.

SPI Fuel Filter

1991 Chevy S-10 4.3  Fram G3727,  Wix 33481, AC Delco GF652, Purolator F33144

(hose connection if line or threads are damaged) WIX WF8034

SPI Fuel Pump

I just posted on the minimania.com forum my experience this past weekend replacing a 1993 mini SPi fuel pump with a US substitute. It worked perfectly for about 82USD. It took only about an hour to do and saved me 450 dollars. (A rover pump here in the US is about $550. USD and a month wait to get it. It cross reverenced to a 1990 3.0L FI Dodge Caravan.

The Minimania post was not mine, it was from somebody else that reposted the info on this forum and I just copied it. That is why I can not assure you of the pump fit. I do not have a thread of my car but I can post some pictures:

I have manged to find a used one, so will be fitting that and will put pix up in my project thread.  Will keep the old assembly as may be useful if I have to go this route
