As above!
I have started th process of removing my old spi engine. It struck me that i have no idea where i can take a vacuum source for the brake servo on the k1100 conversion.
Ideally I would like to keep the servo

good question, that had never occured to me, three options,
1) ditch the servo
2) drill and tap one of the TB's for a hose.
3) use an electric vac pump like the one on the volvo's http://www.ebay.co.u...pcAAOSwQYZWv2Jc

I will look at drilling and tapping a TB, I wait until they are delivered to see.
I never new you could get electric pumps, I will look into that also
many thanks

Lots of Diesel engine vehicles have a vac pump built onto the back of the alternator. As space is tight with these conversions it may not be an option but worth a look ??

to be honest I would be dropping a mail to SC asking them what they do when it is needed.

Yip have done just that!

SC informed that the BMW throttle bodies each have vac point. i will take line from each. Not sure how I will take these 4 individual draws into one?

I had a look on my TB's last night, the vac take offs are pretty small, supprised they would be big enough

Yip John at SC explained they they were very small, and the vacuum would not be as much as the standard set up, though there would be some assistance.
I can call the authority who will check the car after the engine modification to see if I can delete the servo. But I think it will be an issue, especially when they ask for bigger brakes to be fitted when increasing the output of a car. I actually have 7.5" discs with 4 pots instead of the standard 8.4" discs and standard calipers. So could be a bit of a tough sell to remove the servo also.

In that case I would look at tapping all 4 throttles and add a tak off about 5mm diameter, and gang all 4 together.

I have had a look for a suitable connector, I am not really sure what I should be looking for. I have tried searching for "vacuum pipe connectors". Any ideas where i could source something suitable?

again talk to John.
as you don't really want to be drilling and tapping the manifold(s) you should have some bosses welded on and those then drilled.
sizes can be what ever you want, and yes I would do all of them and plum them to a suitable container which would then have a single original sized hose to the servo.
one thing to consider is the one way valve if doing it this way. where to place it or them.
