Hello guys,

Looking to make my own custom binnacle, the plan is to take the two Speedo and tacho clocks and chuck the fuel/temp gauge in the bin.

Then CNC a new mirror finish stainless steel plate that the clocks will mount to, but I have a Davies Craig temperature controller that will take place of the old temperature gauge, so should look good when it's fitting snug.

My question is can you split up the standard 3 clock gauge? Looks like it's all attached together, I haven't had time to pull the dash out and mess around as it's my daily.

A rough mock up until I receive the controller though the post is attached. I may look tacky at the moment but it will look alot better when done.

Temp controller;

Thanks,

the tacho slides off, but the other two are fixed together (its the same as the two clock unit) however all three are joined by the flexible PCB behind them, you could cut and extend this however? might be difficult to get neat though

Short answer = Yes

You'll need a hacksaw, a soldering iron & some wire.

Only problem is the 3 dial dash has a flexible printed circuit board hence the need for a soldering iron & some wire.

The rev counter is a separate item but you need to cut the plastic enclosure to split the speedo from the fuel/temp gauge.

Combination of plastic push in plugs, brass screws, bulb holders & multi pin connectors.

Seemed daft to me (with so many cameras around) having the speedo off to the left  -so i made a mdf custom dash & put the speedo in direct line of sight ie the middle.

by the way: are you going to fit a fuel gauge? you'd be mad not to.

Also you need to think about glare on the gauge faces, on my old dash i re-engineered the plastic dial surrounds from the original fascia.
