went for a spin today up thro the lanes blimmin coil packed up

thought it was the module as its lucas electronic so changed that

but the same so thought it must the the coil. now the coil is a 40000 volt one

i bought from hh ignition at santa pod last year. he said ok for my ignition

as low ohms. lasted 3000 miles only, rubbish after market stuff eh

good job i carried my old coil. since having a module go last year

thought it must have been one go again

all good now, just shows to carry basic spares and tools in the boot or back seat

started raining just as was finishing up, lucky

What coil have you got fitted now ?

Have you put a meter on the - and + terminals? what ohms are you getting or has the primary circuit gone open circuit ?

Coils usually are one of the most reliable parts of the ignition normally

I had a Lucas sport coil pack up on me last year. Luckily and by chance (because id tidied the garage the day before) I had the coil that was on the car when I bought it over 3 years ago! From what I can gather a lot of Chinese manufacturers have brought or use big names to sell cheap parts. I have a new sport coil from minispares to go on my new engine and I think that's an intermotor one?

the one on there now is the correct coil its the lucas one for electronic ignition

( my old one )

the 40000 volt one was 1.3 ohms about the same as the lucas one when tested it
