Hi All,

So i bought an uprated alternator last may. I've had an issue where my red ignition light would not go out till i gave it a bit of a reving at start up.

Thought a new alternator would fix this but it didnt.

So this week it has got worse, my red ignition light will not go out and the car wont charge. Is it a faulty alternator ? or is it worth checking something else first before buying another ?

its the mini spares 75amp.

Thank you all

Theo

More likely a broken wire or dirty terminal.
Incidentally, if you believe the "new" alternator to be faulty why would you buy a new one rather than back it?

I have had a problem with 2 minispares 70amp alternators within the past year and a bit try cleaning all the connections first and then look at the supplier :)

Carry out the alternator tests in the FAQs Electrical will identify if its faulty, or get it bench tested somewhere
