So I spent the entire night wrenching on the 1975 mini trying to get it to start tomorrow morning and fit the stage 1 kit. I have hit a snag.

 

I completely refurbished the clutch hydraulics new seal on the slave and master but I cant bleed the system because my clutch arm moves freely infact the spring in the slave is enough to push the arm outwards so there is no back pressure. The nut at the bottom of the clutch housing moves slightly when I rock the arm back and forth with 0 effort. What could it be and what is a fix for this ?

If the mechanism has been assembled correctly then the adjustment must be done in the correct sequence. It is a bit worrying that there is a lot of free play in the arm.
First of all undo the big overthrow nut and locknut in the centre of the cover and back them right off.
Pull the arm as far as it will go away towards the inner wing and set the arm stop screw to 0.020" clearance and lock it with the locknut.
Fit the big arm return spring and bleed the system.
Check that the top of the arm has a minimum of 0.5" linear travel.
Finally set the overthrow nut by pushing the clutch fully down and screwing the overthrow nut in until it just touches the cover. The pedal must be pushed right down as you do this. Release the pedal and screw the nut in one more flat and lock it in that position.

Already a duplicated thread regarding this problem, keeping them both open will just confuse things.
