I think a picture of the bearing would help people see if the bearing can be "cleaned up" or if its best to leave it..

can we have some pics?
I would expect quality work from somone with the reputation of Gosnays,
if the bearings are tight it is ok to relive them with a bearing scraper, but this should leave a fairly smooth surface as you shave the bearing rather than gouge it.
also check for any dings in the cam shaft journels, as these will mark the bearings when the cam is slid in.

My Kent cam had a slight edge on the grove on the largest bearing which marked a new bearing so worthwhile checking yours.

I think the bearings are more than big enough for what they have to do. I'd only be really worried if it looked like they'd have difficulty holding oil pressure or looked to be *******-eyed. Shoddy workmanship might make you wonder about the latter. Don't remove any more metal it could only make the fit worse, if the cam already spins freely.

Terry, the cam bearings can be scraped and polished using brown paper, however when fitted correctly they do NOT often require anything as the tolerances are pretty tight.
I would be concerned with Gosnay's attitude, to me it appears they may have given your job to the apprentice..... "it's only a Mini" springs to mind ! I would as stated above like to see photo's and then discuss how good the rest of the work has been undertaken !
