So if im putting a Spi engine into an older car what can I get rid of that wont effect the running of the car?

Basically ive got a rusted out Cooper Spi, but the engine is great, so im thinking of putting it in a 79 mini (good shell). So I wont have to worry about emissions limits in the MOT.

I want to keep the injection system for the moment.

CAT can go, what about the carbon canister, can anyone think of anything else I can dump before the transplant.

Will removing any of this effect the ECU?
