Well my names Greig, just got another mini, so thought I would join up and say hello!

Had this stored away since January, so thought I would get some photos up! Really miss my old mini, and when I got offered this one I couldnt resist.

50k miles

Mot'd in January with no advisories

Not much to say other than it's pretty much rust free which is crazy for an MPI. Underside has been undersealed and other than the stereo its all completely standard. I have a few things to tidy up, so will keep people updated as we go!

Only thing I have added so far, are original style John Cooper plates (with a big thanks to Alz or supplying the guy on ebay with the correct font). Also removed the side stripes etc to make it less messy looking.

Some pics from the iphone:

And one of my last mini - some may remember it from its miniworld feature a few years ago.

Is it a factory Cooper..? Only ask as its missing the side coachlines, the Cooper Laurels and the two front spot lamps... You also might want to consider getting the original wiper arms, I had chrome ones on mine when I bought it and they were shockingly weak!

Sure is - I prefer the look without the coach lines etc. Just looks a little cleaner and less fussy! And yes originals will be going back on - Unfortunately had it out in the rain yesterday and the wipers were bad!

Couple of wee changes. Since it was nice yesterday, I got the chance to give the mini a 2 stage detail. The paint was generally good, but there was a few blemishes in the paint - deep scratches, small bubbles from naff paint on the wings and bird poo.

I wont bore you with photos, but here are a couple befores and afters.

The wings were wet sanded and then polished to remove the blemishes:

Also got a Lucas reversing light for my birthday which I am chuffed with!!

Thanks guys - I'm guessing is has maybe had a front end in the past for it to be in such good condition.

Overall a nice clean car, but it has a few niggles that will slowly get sorted over time :).

Wee update.

Fitted my RC40 exhaust as well as my Lucas reversing light and refreshed some chrome trim/badges. Then took some photos :)

The exhaust sounds ridiculous on idle and over run (likes to pop and bang) but on a normal drive I would say there is a tiny change in cabin noise, but hardly noticeable. Next up is fitting my mk2 rear lights :)
