Hi all  I want to remove the spherical ball type cv joint from the drive shaft . Do i need to bash it off at the point shown on my photo or do i need to do anything else first. I just dont want to start hitting it until i know im not going to do damage elsewhere. Many thanks for any advice

Looking at your photo, I would take a wad of rag around your driveshaft to protect your shiney subframe.....  but yes there are no clips to release prior to removal, there is a clip holding it on to the shaft but it is a knock off type you cannot get to it like on some cars.
