I'm getting to the point in my engine build where I need to start thinking about the head and what should be done to it. So far I have a 1275 bored to 1293 and a Kent 266 cam. Do I need to tune the head to suit the cam or can I just stick anything on there and it will work, cause I was planing to fit a minispeed stage 4 head ( bigger inlet and exhaust valves, bullet nose guides, deshrouded chambers and worked ports ) would this work well and make decent power and torque. I'm going to be using the car as a fast road race for daily driving and the odd track day and country road run.

Opinions welcome.

No need to go mad. A lightly modified/refurbished 12g940 should do the trick. Twin hs4 carbs on a maniflow inlet manifold, maniflow 1.75'' exhaust ect.

That's what I would do anyhoo.

:highfive:

I would be thinking along the same lines as above

Instead of buying an off the shelf item I would suggest speaking with AC Dodd or Keith Calver, they will be able to advise and possibly supply a head that will be bespoke to your engine and requirements

Minispeed heads are not provided off the shelf. ALL heads are prepared to order, and account is taken of the spec of the bottom end, desired CR, usage etc to give the customer the best solution for them.

Source out an MG Metro head and have it refurbished, I have a 266 cam and thought that seeing as that was close to an MG spec cam to go for that head.
