right this is my mini...... http://server6.uploa...ev-DSC00787.JPG as you can see the previous owner has taken it upon himself to whack a great big hole in the roof and stud some vinyl over it,now i actually think it looks quite good and a bit different.....buuuut its my first car and way too much hassle as im getting a respray and will have to get a new one made up to match the paintjob,it also sweats quite a bit and has taken some of the paint up,im also more than certain that if i tell the insurance people that iv got a roof where scallys can just jump in that they wont be best pleased esp around my neighbourhood. so the q is can i get a new roof for it? im not too keen on gettin a whole new shell as the rest of the car is immaculate. the sooner this gets sorted i camn start filling the mini with valuables ie stereo and stuff

there are a few options here.....

Fit a webasto sunroof (if you can find one)
Cut the roof off a mini from the scrappers and weld the skin over the top
Buy a carbon fibre roof skin curley uk
Buy a new steel skin from british motor heritage bmh

I've got to do one soon myself on my dads other half mini so we've been looking at this and these are the main options i could find.

Have fun

Could try the New Mills Scrappy, known throughout Stockport as Quasi's scrapper, for snide reasons you shouldn't mention.
Thye have loads of scrap minis with decent roofs.

Webasto 400

This is the site about Webasto fabric sunroofs (sunrooves?)

The dimensions are at the bottom. Good luck.

£400 sounds much more like a proper job for fitting a roof. They are a pig 'because you can't just weld one over the other. The shape of the roof prevents one from fitting tightly down on top of another one. They're hard to get off because theyre roller welded not spot welded, so the weld is continuous all the way round. And they are important for strength so not only do you have to weld the new one very well all around the car (tough without a roller welder), but you need to completely jig the body before even starting or you'll never get it back to the right shape. But I still can't see a body shop doing it in 10 hours. You must have a very good friend to offer that price.

You could always fit a convertible kit if you can get bodywork done for that kind of money.

looking at your photo, i'd say the hole in your roof is too big to fit a webasto, i think the only routes you have is either a new roof, or a convertible conversion, or sell it quick, and buy a mini that hasnt been messed with.
