Just fitted a new brake master cylinder, is there a trick to fitting that clevis pin, ive struggled for 1/2 hour and gave up for the day, ive taken out the drivers seat and am on my back with my head under the dash, also removed the air hose, when I do get it in is it ok to use a correct size R clip as opposed to a split pin. Thanks Mart.

If you've got one, or can get hold of one, use an extendable magnetic pen.

An 'R-Pin' is fine for the clutch, but some consider it less than safe for the brake clevis pin. It's your choice really.

I would not recommend and R clip for brakes as I did for both brake and clutch and luckily the clutch one popped out and so did the clevis pin and I lost the clutch. Might have been a different story had the brake one come out. Consequently I now use split pins, a bit more of a hassle but safe long term.

I use long nose pliers with 45degree bend in it.
Also R Clips are fine. The only way you'll have issues with them is through incorrect fitment.
