Possibly a stupid question, but how do you get the ribbed end bit of the choke cable to fully fit into the carb bracket? Its a HS4 carb.

should be a metal clip on there. mini spares sell them in the carb section

Wrap a little bit of black insulation tape on the end of the outer cable. Makes it a snug fit in the holder and gives the retaining clip something to grip onto. The black coating on the cable should be all the way to the end but sadly these days they don't.
