Has anyone ever repaired the worn-out ball on the end of the clutch arm?

I could easily build the end up with steel or stellite and grind back to a ball but was wondering if anyone has experience of doing it or it being done?

Do you think the welding process will weaken the heat treatment of the arm significantly?

I would buy a new one but everywhere is out of stock unless some one knows of a supply.

The other alternative is to fit the racing version from minispares but I'd have a much bigger job of getting the bell housing off to do this.

Thanks in advance.

I have welded and reshaped the ball to make a snug fit in the plunger with no ill effects and 2 years on still going strong. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Looks like I'll be welding it to get running again.
