if you're a confident welder then yes it is pretty easy but if not it will be a long a slightly painful job :').
+ youll have to start by removing the engine and wiring loom (the loom may be damaged when welding near the scuttle panel so its just safe).
+rub back the spot weld points such as along the top of the wings where the inner and outer wings connect and also on the inside of the bay at the bottom of the inner wings where the front panel connects to the inner wing (basically you're exposing all the little spot welds so you can drill them out and leave a clean surface to weld back onto.)
+using a drill bit bigger than the spot welds drill out the welds but do not penetrate all the way (you can make this easier by putting your drill bit in a vice and grinding off the tip so its flat.) you can drill straight through on the front panel welds where it connects to the bottom of the inner wings as you'll be welding onto the front panel and not the inner wing)
+once the spot welds are drilled out you can simply cut them away from the a panel and also grind off the spot weld at the top near the scuttle panel as you don't need to keep the a panel.
+the scuttle panel is pretty much the same situation but buy a replacement first (I always recommend genuine heritage as they seem to fit best but cost a lot more) this way you can measure up how far to cut off the post. the spot welds just run across the window frame.
Its easy getting all the panels off but you need to make sure the alignment of the panels are perfect so it is not a job for the faint hearted really.
good luck :)
