Hi guys!

I'm fitting a MED stubstack/itg filter soon ( should arrive today :D ) and I wonder if I'll have to change the needle again?
I was running a BDK before with a k&n cone as advised by swiftune. Who swapped to an ITG setup before? Had to change the needle?

My engien spec:
1330 cc
AEG 643 cam ( the good old 544!)
Ported MG metro head, 35X29 valves
MED inlet , hif44 and itg/stubstack.

I did try winsu, but don' t really know if the software is reliable for 'higher' states of tune? ( DX, BAP and AKN are all needles they advice)

Thanks!

Would you buy a guitar and then try and play it without tuning it up first? Thought not.

Take your set-up to a rolling road - everything else as advocated on your opening statement is just a guess. It isn't like you've a starting point, as the needle is only advised rather than worked out at a previous session on rollers. You've everything to gain from a session.

Still have to drive it to the rollers tho. Wich will be one of the AC dodd days, will be a nice trip from Belgium. :)

Stub stacks tend to assist airflow and weaken the mixture in my experience on SU's (On Weber's then tend to richen, as signal strength over the main jet is improved).

Fit it (the stub stack) to your existing set up and if you are at all worried, do a plug chop, maybe richen the mixture by a couple of flats if the plugs arent chocolate brown..... before driving to the UK. Not sure you are doing the tune up, long drive in necessarily the right order.....

Bit hard to put the mini in my pocket and take the eurostar ;)

Literally no rolingroads around here. Did think about getting an AFR tho.

How about book rolling road. Drive over on current set up. Fit new setup on arrival here / rolling road. Have setup done. Drive home?
Should only need minimal tools and easy do at road side if needs be.

Thought about that too, could probably just leave the stubstack out. But it s always nice to drive New things :D
Dont know if winsu is a good software? It appears to be quite good for standard cars( gives aau for a stage 1 mini) but dont know if its good for more tuned mini's, never had a tuned mini on su's before ( always weber)
Cheers

I would probably say an AFR gauge is an ideal mod for you,  you always seem to be doing little upgrades and whatnot. You could do your own tune out on the open roads that way and get it close enough to drive until you get it set up over here. But you will find it will lean it off slightly but quantifying the difference will be hard without testing.

Why!? and if so then theres going to be a little metal plug and then fit a wideband. I don't personally but had a look in ebay and the Innovate kits seem to be pretty well regarded and not a bad price.

The AEM wideband is well priced and is decent for the money.

The Inovate LM2 is probably your best bet Dusky, it logs the readings so you can download and compare them on their free software. https://www.amazon.c...d/dp/B001S7W836  I found it cheaper somewhere but I can't find it right now.
