Hi I have an 1989 mini 30, I jacked the back of the car up the other month just to check through certain things as I jacked it up I saw that the rubber donut cone had come out
Of place, I put it back into its place and from then on its alway make a creaking noise once I go over certain rough roads or pull into my drive it's only in the rear drivers side wheel, I've tried putting it in other positions but it is constantly make the same worrieingly disturbing noise I wondered if anyone could help me out a little, I don't know if it is the rubber cone or somthing else but it is a very rubbery creak noise?

The cone shouldn't come out, the shock absorber should stop the arm dropping far enough.

A quick visual examination  of the shocker, its rubber bushes and the wheel arch where it attaches should eliminate  it as the cause; compare it to the other side.

If the shocker isn't at fault then it's something from the knuckle joint back to, and including, the sub frame providing a solid seat for the rubber cone. Again, compare with the other side, but the cone does seem likely if it's that loose. The steel band around it may have rusted through.

Other common failures are the ball of the knuckle joint wearing through the nylon cup and the end of the trumpet cracking.

Have you fit hi-los to it? If you lower the rear too much you will allow the cones to dislodge or go loose with no tension on them. Have a look online at what a new cones profile looks like as well. These things often times collapse in on themselves, especially if they are not genuine units. If they look more like doughnuts then cones, that could be the issue.
