engine now turns over again and i have a spark. The feed which was going to the coil had snapped so just ran another feed in from fusebox.
Now when i try and start the car it sounds as if its just about to fire then it stops and i get a whining type of noise!!

battery has full power, it is constantly on charger when im not using it

have a looksie at the condition of your starter motor... if it's an inertia type, then it could be that it's not engaging properly... take it out, clean it up and see regrease it. then have another go.
also... Have you tried bump starting it?? just to get it going.
