Hi;
The other day I posted up that I may have a problem with my CV joints, when I rotate the wheel I get a rapid but feint clicking.
Whilst working on the car today I noticed that the boots at the end of the half shaft nearest the engine were scewed up. I seem to recal that this may have happened a long while ago when I was laying up the car, I either jacked up under the engine block or where the car was lifted the seals popped around the half shafts as there was a lot of oil on the floor??
The car has been off the road for 5 years now and I have been restoring it for about 4 years, I am close to finishing and don't want something like this holding me up.
So:
1. Are the half shafts easy enough to (a) remove (b) inspect and © refit.
2. Do I need to remove the half shafts to refit them and do I need to then replace the boots at the engine end?
3. If I remove the half shafts how / can I inspect the CV joints?
4. If the seals have popped do they need to be replaced?
Thanks
