What's a winter & all light and is your Mini sitting its A levels????

If that's just predictive text meltdown, what year Mini and what's not working on your indicators & hazards, with/without ignition on?

Hi -sorry it's a 1984 mini Mayfair
The indicators work but the hazards don't with or without the ignition on , the Haynes manual says that the fuses are on the bulkhead which I've checked and seem to be intact .
I've also had a look at the switch but not tested it .

There's a fair chance it's the hazard flasher. Even it it's not, it's easy to check and it will help find what is. It's located on the bulkhead, under the bonnet, and has 2 spade terminals, connect the terminals together and the hazards will light, but not flash, if it's the flasher.

Hi again
We have had a go at crossing the two terminals on the flasher unit - but none of the flashers work so we think we've located the 15amp fuse ,but it's disintegrated so I'm going to replace this along with the flasher unit and hazard switch . I think the internal lights on the same line as it doesn't work - so I'm going to change the bulb in this unit .
Do you know if the internal light unit wasn't working would this cause the hazards not to work as well ?
Thanks for your help with this really appreciated .

You're right, a failed interior light is a good clue that the fuse has blown, or you've got a voltage supply problem at least. I don't think you'll need all those new bits.

Start with the fuse. The interior light is a more likely cause if a short has blown it, so it would make sense to put a meter, or test light, in place of the fuse to see that there's no current leaking on the +ve side of the interior light (with its bulb removed), but there is current flowing if you earth the  +ve side of the fuse holder.

The actual fuse carriers often corrode out of sight so the fuse is ok but the voltage won't pass through.

Yes that's what I found last night ! Both the fuse carrier for the fig lamp and the carrier for the hazard corroded when I took them apart - so it's looking like this may be the cause ( fingers crossed ) .
