This used to be in my 1965 Cooper S, just wondered if it was of any value without the Smiths clocks in it, as I have sold the oil/water and rev counter. If I did consider selling it then it would be to a mini forum member, as this belongs back in a mini and not in some arty farty flat somewhere sitting on a shelf, looking pretty.

I guess it would be pretty difficult to price something like that. Must be worth a fair bit though. I haven't seen one before but looks like this?

Sorry not very helpful but if you did decide to sell I would be very interested (for a 60s cooper)

£150 to £200, looks like you have cleaned it up since it was on the MK1 forum 5 or so years ago

Yes I did it was in a poor state, I remember at the time asking what is was and someone even said it looks like a DIY job.

Unless you have the genuine 60`s car when only the real thing will do its not a difficult job to knock one up and finish it with crinkle paint and self adhesive flexible chrome trim.

They are quite basic in their construction, and yes you can replicate them, but its nice to have period accessories, it would go best in a MK1 as the speedo and surround come apart into it's various components, leaving the speedo fully supported in its own housing which this then mounts too, rather that the MK2 onwards plastic one piece shroud which mounts to the body then supports the dials. I'd like it for my MK1, but I'm not in a position to get it at the moment with other projects to be done :-)

Hi mk1coopers

I found that old photo I posted I cant believe it was 5 years ago, shows what you can do with a bit of good old elbow grease.

No still have it, I just put it up for a valuation I have had offers between £80-£350, it's one of those items if I ever was going to rebuild my 1275 cooper s it would not be missed as it was not standard, unlike the 120mph speedo if that went then I might as well sell everything else if you know what I mean.
