Time To Change The Ptc?

I have run my Sykes Pickavent tool and actuator tests out OK for everything inc ptc manifold heater.
As the same while running coolant temp is fine no errors found. No air leaks vac hoses are fine
The car starts fine and runs fine just while cold or warming up in the early stages from cold it slightly spluttery and trying to drive it like this I experience a slight hesitance in acceleration or running. Then it just suddenly clears and then it's running with no problems whatsoever.
Was thinking maybe the ptc heater isn't working or not working effectively.
Can anyone shed light on this? Also noticed they are not available in many places and are quite expensive.

Could be a number of things to be honest but worth checking the PTC

Tested the wire to the relay box using actuator test on my SP tool from the ptc and I have power when the tool activates it.
The hesitation is only slight and only when cold ish from starting

Had some issues with mine as well. checked that I had 12v on the connector and all was fine. I then decided to go ahead and remove the PTC to check it. quickly figured out it was dead, when i shook it in my hand it made a rattling noise as if it was filled with sand and stones. popped it open and the resistance was completely fried and in thousands of little bits and pieces. minispares and somerford mini have them in stock part number is MED10003 but yes indeed for what it is they are bloody expensive.
