Hi

 

The wee A series engine is nearly rebuilt so starting to turn attention to the interior.

 

Was removing an aftermarket alarm, but my attention was drawn to the control switches, is any one able to tell me what they should be? I'm happy with the Choke, and Heater control, its more the electrical switches in positions 1 and 4 as they have nothing to identify them.

 

It's a 998cc 1984 City E.

#1 Lights.

#2 Brake test switch.

As above. Put a touch of olive oil on them too see if a logo appears. If left hand switch has two positions then it's lights, if other one has one, unlatchable position then it's brake test.

Here's mine. Ignore the far left one, that's my front spots.
Otherwise it's brake test, hazard lights, rear demister and then lights going left to right.
The brake test is spring loaded so springs back when released.
The Hazard switch and rear demister click once down.
The lights have 2 positions, click down once =side lights, then again for headlights.

Usually on 4 switch dash it will be, from left to right: brake fluid warning, rear demist, hazard and headlight.

If you can list the colours of the wires it's easy enough to confirm.

Sorry for the incorrect info.  My mini is a 1974 model, and apparently the image is for a later mini.

Thank you all, I shall pull the switches out and list colours... I will also try the olive oil trick!
