Just bought a N.O.S Unipart 4 piece clutch kit, its a complete balanced assembly with the flywheel, got it for £87.50 all in, which i was very pleased with, as its a nos part would it be best to unbolt the 6 bolts clamping it all together as im a bit concerned the friction plate may be stuck to the pressure plate and flywheel, like when you leave a car for a long time, would i have to mark the flywheel and pressure plate to ensure it goes back the same as its a balanced assembly, sorry if this all sounds a bit stupid, but i dont know much about verto clutches. Thanks Martin.

Get a New friction plate as well. Chances are the current one still contains asbestos.

never a bad idea to mark up balanced sets. but I would bet there could well be a mark on it already.

Mark it, strip, clean with brake and clutch cleaner.

Good advise about the asbestos too

If it's a verto, then no need to mark up as they only fit together in one orientation.

So definitely buy a new friction plate, will that upset the balance? Martin.
