I have a 1983 mini mayfair and I want to polish the wiper motor but I want to remove it before doing so. I have removed the strap that attaches it to the bulkhead and loosened the nut but the cable rack won't detatch. Any ideas?

you need to remove the plate and un hook the drive wire from the drive pin.

It must have took me all of two minutes to take it off. Many hours later after polishing it with wire wool and metal polish it now looks almost chrome plated. Thanks very much.
