Evening all,

I have just noticed, after reading mini world, that there should be a large pipe coming from the front wing across the drivers footwell behind the pedals and going to I don't know what. Could u guys shed any light as it's missing.

It's the heater air intake

Ah got ya. Explains whys it's cold then lol. Why would someone remove it and can I get a replacement?

IIRC not all Minis had it.

Mine had it and some fool removed it, now when driving my feet get constant cold air :-(

I believe the pipe work should start behind the grill, go under the wing, through the bulkhead and onto the heater

Not really, it's the cold air intake (if we're all guessing correctly) not the outlet for the heater.

The heater outlets are small pipes on the side of the heater, or a big vent at the front depending on where you have the lever position.

It's a 1994 Mayfair 1275cc

Yeah it feeds the heater with cold air from behind the grille. If you block up the hole in the foot well to stop the cold coming in the heater will just take air from the cabin. Only down side is you loose the ram efect of the air flow so your heater is a bit weedy... even more than usual !!!
