Hello,

Ive bought a pretty tired mini neon after i got misty eye'd thnking of my old mini neon.. forgetting all of the rust issues and various problems I had when i owned him.

anyway,  the boot floor and rear lip is coming on and I'm starting to think about replacing the sills.  one side has an ordinary sill while the driver side as a very moody looking oversill.  Ive looked in the jacking point and well..er... it's just a hole in the sill with a bit of plate around it.

The inner sills have gone at the bottom of the bins so I'll be removing the bins to gain access.  there have been various little repairs along the inner sills on both sides so i'm thinking of chopping out he lot and replacing.  has anyone used the m-machine inner and outer sill assembly thatcomes as one lump rather than the split panels?  I'd be interested to hear what you thought of them.  They are about £80 per side so would rather not shell out if they're junk.

Cheers

Dave

Have used these on my project, found them very good! they did come in bare shiny metal complete

with machine oil on them but a good clean and epoxy/etch primmer and some care to to coat in jacking

point area no problem, i picked them up from their factory so saved postage ,best phoning to order speak

to Doreen. Most of the panels they supply are from themselves/Heritage or Magnum worth asking them.

As said their own panels fit very well.

both sides of my mini needed new inner/outer sills, and my welder/mini mechanic only uses the m-machine ones (the complete set - to first floor groove)!

Great stuff! thats what I wanted to hear.  They are way up north so have no other option than to courier the bits down to essex.  that bit might turn out to be a bit pricey but we'll see.  I much prefer the option of welding it in as one bit rather than the two bits

The delivery costs are not bad to be honest. I have bought a lot of stuff of them and im right down south in sunny Eastbourne.

I use their inner sills to first flute, separate outer sills, various close outs, inner sill stiffeners etc.

The combined inner and outer sills, as a sub-assembly, is really excellent. It comes with the correct welds and can just be fitted, welded in and 'jobsagoodun'.

This is what the sub-assembly looks like (ignore the date, it was taken on my wife's camera and she doesn't re-set the date!):

I'm using the half floors, no problem here. Would recommend M-machine, good company.
