"Rare opportunity to acquire a 1964 registered Mini Marcos , built on a 1964 mini donor with a 1978 marcos Mk IV shell . I have the original purchase receipt from Fibreglass Techniques Ltd dated 25th March 1978 .

This would make a great historic race car , Jem Marsh who built these in period entered one in Le mans to chase down some serious machinery . Thier power to weight ratio and excellent handling make them a very capable machine on the track . Apparently Jem managed 141 mph down the Mulsanne straight in 1967 prior to oil pump failure . A pair of French guys the year prior managed to finish and was the only English car to do so taking 15th place overall .
Raced worldwide still today , these potential frontrunners represent very good value for money .
This particular example has just been a road car and built well , with nice dashboard , period alloys , cooper front discs and a few other choice components . It currently has a low mileage 988cc A+ unit installed which run and drives well . More power from a 1275 would be the obvious upgrade .
500kilos and potentially 120bhp from a well tuned 1275 must be tempting .
It has been barn stored for a while so kept in the dry . Will require MOT and ideally paint as some parts have been rubbed down , this really is a blank canvass , you could use as is or make it into a serious race contender .
I have the V5 registration document , purchase receipt and it has the correct VIN Tag . It is correctly registered as a mini Marcos "

It's good that it is registered correctly ,

IIRC some owners are having problems with wrongly registered vehicles (reg as a mini), that are correctly insured (as a mini marcos)

the difference shows up on the system now

I bet 141 mph in a lightweight shell would be terrifying - but fun

The link works for me.

Regardless of the registration number it is a 1978 car, so some of the statements made in the listing are misleading.
