Am in process of replacing cv boot to pot joints new cv boot kit comes with clips with ear type tab that you crimp.question is this the small clip (which i think goes inside the boot by turning insude out fitting it then flipping boot over it?)will this type of clip protrude when done up fully and if so wont it fowl the driveshaft/or inside of potjoint whilst in motion(obviously i am aware it is all spinning together)maybe a plastic cable tie is better?any experience or problems with this? Cheers.

I use a cable tie from a reputable source(not the cheap rubbish) on the large end of the gators, on the small ends I use the clips

I've just done mine before putting the engine back in. The small clip crimps well (and doesn't foul the boot) as I have the proper crimping pliers, if you don't, I suggest you use a quality cable tie. The large one I got in my kit, even with the proper pliers was not a tight fit so I ended up using a cable tie.
