Hi fitting a oil filter to a 850cc mk1 mini I have all the rubbers but oil keeps coming out around the top and running down its like its not sealing around the top edge? It's the original type with bolt running threw it what am I doing wrong? Thanks Tom

Two things you may want to check:
1) That the new sealing ring at the top of the filter housing is fitting squarely in the recess in the top of the filter housing before you tighten up the filter bowl
2) That you do not have an old seal stuck in the groove that prevents the new seal from fitting properly.
I have experienced both problems.
