Hi all
Had my new 1330 rr'd at the start of the year with 90bhp, the operators said he expected a little more, with this said and that my past engine had a blown piston ring, I've down a compression test to see where I'm down on power and just a general check
Results are
Dry
208,194,208 210
Wet
229,221,229,229
Am I right in reading these thinking that with the oil in the second set bringing the reading up but not inline with the other wets I may have a valve sealing issue?

Worth noting that it doesn't smoke or use unusual amounts of oil

Thanks in advance

Id say valves too. But it's not bad at all! :)

They look to be within spec.
What's the spec of your engine? What were you expecting?

leakdown test. wouldn't be worried though as not much variation.

imparana,

The results you get are very consistent apart from cylinder 2:

Dry: 208,194,208 210
Wet: 229,221,229,229

The rise from dry to wet could be result of just couple of cc's of oil in each cylinder.

When the engine was rebuilt did you check volumes of all the chambers in the head, and block deck heights? This can affect spread of compression test results.
