I have a 57 plate cooper s which I've had for about a year. When I start the car in the morning or evening if it's been cold the engine makes a horrendous tractor noise. It usually only lasts a few minutes until the engine is warm but I'm a bit concerned about it. Has anyone else had this issue and what was the problem? Thanks so much!

_{Hi you need to get the car to a garage (main dealer) this is called the death rattle. The timing chain tensioner is faulty and the chain could skip, this is why you are getting the noise it's a common fault. I'm on my fourth new mini which is a JCW cabriolet and made the dealer change the chain on purchase of the car.}

I'd advise changing the oil pump as well as the chain kit, the amount of issues with these vehicles is crazy!
