Bad times.
Going to rebuild that motor or chuck another one in?
The car seemed very stable at the higher speeds.

Not 100% sure yet.. I've already removed the old engine.. I may have found a 1.8 turbo mg zt donor car, if that's no good will go for another vvc.

that was my first time out with it and its only seen set up by eye by me, its spax coilovers allround and the rear of the car is very very light, will get it set up and corner weighted once its running again

What were the yellow then later red numbers? Oil pressure? (or lack thereof?)

At least it's only £200 for a 150hp engine, instead of the £2000+ plus for an A series equivalent.

In the centre of the dash?, if so that's the lap timer on my phone.

I've stripped the engine down to find 1 cranked conrod, oil pick up full of bearing shavings and about 5 litres of metalic silver oil!!!!

Goes to show why you need a helmet (and perhaps harnesses) in a car too. I swear you were almost in the passenger seat at one point 😂

That certainly puts things into perspective

It was a 1.8 VVC with a few mods producing around 170bhp at the time...  after stripping the block i cracked a conrod!!

I already have a 1.8 K series turbo engine to replace it with should be around 200/220bhp when done
