Pals 79 clubman has a failed lower drivers door hinge. On inspection it's not the hinge but the panel the hinge bolts onto the has corroded and snapped. Can't see it too well with the door on and if we take it off well wreck what's left of the panel.

So what do we need to buy to sort this out?, we have an a panel but will any hinge panel fit or is there a specific clubman one?, do we need a strengthening panel as well?

Going to try to get the panels tomorrow so a fast answer would be appreciated,

Many thanks.

You'll need to take the wing and a panel off most likely to make it easier. It's the flitch panel that's failed but if it's damaged like that then it's likely the whole panel is on its way out

you will need the flitch panel or you could quite easily make up the section you need.

I would most likely think you would need the hinge panel too if it's corroded through. Minispares part number ALA6472GEN

It's quite an involved job to replace that panel properly and could well open a can of worms and you may well end up needing a new a post too. Minispares part number ALA5661

Magnum do a hinge panel repair piece which goes over the top of the A post but it would unlikely give you a nice repair. Just a functional one.

hi, thanks for the quick replies. the job will be done professionally and will involve new A panels

not sure what and where the  flitch panel goes but the hinge panel above ALA6472GEN is the minimum I'd expect to have. I guess he'd cut it and use the lower section? but where does the flitch panel go?, looks like it's near the top hinge, if so that area is solid.

what do I know?, I just want to get him the parts so the job can be done easily and quickly

thanks
