Hi folks,

Bought my first Mini last Aug a 1997 R reg Rover Mini Cooper Mpi and have been doing bits to it since ready for this summer.

Decided after hearing another Mini with a K&N to fit one as liked the noise. So not being mechanically minded I ordered them it it stated should fit an Mpi. The 57-0189 kit which doesn't seem to fit, in fact I can't see how it could, as I say not that mechanically minded.

Tried following the instructions but the diagram on them looks nothing like what I have in front of me when I remove the standard air box. Or I am looking at it totally wrong.

Does it make any difference the fact that my car was originally a Japanese model with the air con etc?

Any advice would be great as can't see any way of fitting it at present

Thanks Dave

if you have a jap spec mini it will be an spi with regards to the fuelling

the late jap spec mpi models were a kind of mpi/spi hybrid

Thanks that's what I was thinking after a lot of googling etc.

I'll have to send it back and hope they'll swap it for the Spi kit.
