I have a 1961 Mk1 Morris Mini Minor Deluxe (with floor start)

Indicator stalk light flashes all the time, whether indicating or not.  I have replaced flasher unit countless times and also replaced indicator stalk.  Flasher unit is fixed to bulkhead by plastic screw and distanced from bulkhead by a rubber washer, but it does not seem to make any difference if fitted by metal screw and without the washer. I have replaced flasher unit several times as they do not seem to last long.  I have purchased them from several classic mini specialists (I will have to consider bulk buying....).

Two classic car garages have been unable to fix.  Another suggested that I disconnect the horn; I have tried this and it made no difference (other than horn did not work!! :-)).

Local Mini Club and Classic Car Club are unable to recommend an auto electrician (I remember when you could invite one to your drive and he came with a van full of equipment).

Any ideas?  I am a simpleton when it comes to electrics so please keep it simple....

Are the wires on the flasher unit correctly fitted.

Just another thought, if the flasher light is going all the time it must be connected to the wrong source, check all the wiring connections and make sure they are correct, you could try removing one wire at a time and find which one is supplying the bulb, under the dash would be a good place to start, it could be connected to the interior light wire which permanent feed .

Hmm.  Thanks.  I have tried wiring before.  If I swap the left and right over on flasger unit they stay on and if I remove centre one nothing works.

Can someone tell me how to change my password?  I used the correct one but I could not get in so asked for anew one so that I could then change it to one I want.... The one I now have is 15 digits long and ridiculous!   How do I change this to something sensible?  Why is it not obvious to me?
