Due to my standard exhaust blowing and current full body restoration thats going on at the minute I've decided to go to stage one on my engine. There are a few different kits out there but I'm happy to pick and choose parts to create the optimal setup.

 

Currently the engine is a standard 1257 with hif 38 carb. I have a new hif 44 carb which I'd like to fit in the process but can anyone recommend inlet manifold, exhaust manifold and exhaust please? Side exit preferred.

 

I had a maniflow exhaust years ago which I liked so to get another one of them would be good. I've got a fair few bits in the basket for mini spares so if it could all come from there that would be great but I'm happy to go to different places for different bits to get the best.

From all that's been said about our lovely minis

it seems that the most power to be obtained comes from porting the head

anything from up to plus 30 bhp can be got from the head

very little comes from elsewhere

at least that is what I have come to understand

Recommend Maniflow freeflow exhaust manifold with twin box RC40 side exit.

 

Get alloy inlet manifold from Minispares, the HIF38 will work OK up to about 75bhp with a good air filter.
