Hi all,
Am in the process of getting everything ready for my 1275 rebuild. I've got everything including a new verto clutch and flywheel so I can use a pre engaged starter motor. Just wondering how many of you would recommend getting this balanced. It's not a case of cost I'm just struggling to find anywhere in Staffordshire to do it and wondering whether it's essential. Any advice / recommendations appreciated.
Admin; apologies if this is in the wrong place. Andy

Rebalancing should not be needed, a replacement flywheel should be already balanced.

If you buy the pressure plate + flywheel assembly they should be prebalanced. If you only buy the flywheel you WILL need to get it balanced to the pressure plate.

I'd get it balanced, the crank, clutch assembly and crank damper then you'll have a nice smooth running engine. While your at this stage of a rebuild it makes sense to do it all properly.

After getting my clubman back on the road I feel that I should've spent money on a balanced verto clutch set up at the very least. I fitted the old set up with a new clutch plate and I would say there is a noticeable vibration, or maybe I'm still not used to driving an old Mini yet!
