Hi All,

Posting here as my brother is having stuggles with his insurance company.

He was the 3rd party in an accident where somebody ploughed into the back of him at a roundabout with enough force to push him into the car in front.

He's with Aviva, who sent the car off to 'an authorised repair centre' to be fixed.

The damage the car received were badly bent and scratched bumper and boot, quarter panels, bonnet and front bumper, as well as the crash bars.

The repair centre have now had the car for coming up to two months and keep on sending excuses as to why the car isn't ready and delaying the return date. THe excuses range from being unable to match the paint code to not being able to find replacement panels and being supplied with incorrect body parts... the list goes on.

He's now at his wits end and the garage who has the car are showing themselves to be totally incompetent.

Does anybody have any suggestions as to some come back which we can go to Aviva with to help push along the issue?

ie, take the car to a dealership, threaten with legal action, insurance ombudsman, provide an ultimatum date of return etc

We're at a loss as to what to do.

Thanks for the help

You've answered your own question, "The insurance ombudsman"

I've used them before and they have been nothing but helpful.
