Right so I'm looking to replace my wheels as the previous owner had fitted 8x13 alley cats, as nice as they are I think they are just too wide!

I'm looking to go down to 7x13s, looked around a few places and stumbled upon JBW.

After reading reviews I'm getting very mixed messages about the quality of their products.

Just wondering if anyone has had any recent experience with them?

I have a set of jbw mambas. They look nicely made, and condition hasn't changed in last 9 months. I think the cars that have wheels that deteriorate tend to be winter driven and not washed. Most wheels will corrode with salt left on them.

JBW make super lights which are massively common and seem to be good quality! Mine are great although heavy for a race wheel.

Thanks for the replies! I'm abit of a clean freak so keeping them cleaned won't be a problem also it will only be for road use so weight isn't a massive issue for me. Thanks guys!

Hopefully get them ordered tonight  :D

Problem most people have with JBW wheels isnt JBWs fault...people just don't look after their wheels and they corrode through poor maintenance.

Bob on. I've said to anyone buying them, get a GOOD rim wax and get a few layers on before you even think about putting them on the car. Mine have had around 6 coats of Poorboys rim wax on them and are still off the car.

Have had my JBW superlights on for almost a year now. I use my car pretty much daily and clean the car every week if I can.

I could not be happier, they still look like new!

not looked at JBW for a long time so dont know what they sell now, but back when they were midland wheel supplies they got a very bad name when it came to quality, however i think it was due to the quality of the "other stuff" they used to sell. wipers and chrome etc.

i think what every one else has said is true, if you want your wheels to stay nice you have to look after them.

Th main issue people used to struggle with was getting the tyres fitted. I dunno what was wrong with the tyres but their were stories of them having to heat up the tyres to get them on then there was the issue with the painting flaking off after 6 months use, None of these stories seemed to have popped up recently now though so maybe they have sorted out there issues,

It was the design of the well in the wheel being in the centre and not offset like it should be, making fitting tyres a pain in the arse.

Arrr right I wondered what it was, I had always avoided there wheels, Are the ones they sell now got the well in the right place then?

No idea to be honest, as I 'think' it was only the 10" variety with the tyre fitting issue and I've never run a mini on aftermarket 10" wheels. So I've never really taken that much notice.
