Trying to replace the crank main seal on a 1989 rover mayfair, we have tried everything we can think of to get the torque off but it isn't working. Is there a trick or something we are missing?

Get the torque off? What do you mean torque?

tourque converter I think he means. Presumably you've got a flywheel puller on it but its stuck? If so get the puller as tight as you can then try some penetrating fluid around where it joins the crank. Often left for some time with a puller tight they will shift.

You won't get it off without the puller, its also a different puller to that on the manual unless you have a universal puller. Also don't undo all six bolts on the t/c only every other bolt to fit the puller to, otherwise you may develop a leak.
