Hi All
I have a 998cc Mk1 Cooper which has the paper filter type oil housing. After a long run yesterday, I found when I parked the car outside my garage, oil was dripping from the centre of the housing where the bolt is located.
It is dripping quite a lot with the engine running, about 6" diameter patch is left after about 5 minutes of running.
Can anyone please tell me where I can obtain a sealing kit for the centre bolt, for this type of filter housing?
Thanks

You normally get them when you buy a new oil filter. It would be more convenient for you to buy a new one then you can just replace the lot in one go. Any good motor factors should have one, but be sure to check the box for them!

Hi
But I am not using a modern type spin on filter. I understand that is the case, but I want to find the sealing kit/ring that is used for the retaining bolt for the old type paper filter housing.
Thanks

Pretty sure mine came with the seals, and they even stock them at Halfrauds.
And yes, defo the paper type as they were fitted to all the autos.
