So I've finished putting the MG metro turbo in the mini. It runs lovely. Turn it off. Start it up another time and it dies haha. It like its over fueling but its pot luck as to when it does it. Anyone had the same problem or heard anything similar to this happening?

I'm in Rayleigh, Essex so if anyone out there knows a mobile tuner (or similar) who would be able to help? Or anyone good with turbos?

Cheers guys.

Do you mean when you can see of them if theyre running lean/rich etc? I don't think its been running long enough to have changed and when it starts to miss if you turn the fuel pump off it runs alright until it'll run out of fuel

Ah ok, it's still worth having a look. Even if they haven't changed colour you'll see if they are wet.

Have you checked what pressure the fuel pressure regulator is set to? Should be around 3.5psi on idle.

You need to put a T piece in the hose between the fuel pressure regualtor and carb.

If you don't have a gauge, you could always try adjusting it on the car until it idles, taking note of how many turn you adjusted it. If it improves then you know the fault is with the fuel pressure setting.

The other thing to check, is the that fuel return line isn't blocked.

Thank you!! We've adjusted the regulator but I haven't got the t piece between the fuel pressure regulator and the carb so I'll try that and check the fuel return line! With the t piece is the extra bit off the t piece a breather?

The extra piece off the T goes towards the pressure gauge.

also, its worth whipping the dash pot off, turning the ignnition on so the pumos running and check fuel isnt overflowing out of the jet, could be the float valve .

I don't think it is overflowing there but I'll have a double check tomorrow, cheers :)

Good point...especially if it hasn't been started in while.
