I have a 1275 - 1992 / manual trans / carb

It turns a tad slow. I wanted to check the timing, got the light set it up hit the strobe, I see the scale on the cover just fine but there is no notch on the pulley. I Checked the other end and there is a tiny 3/16 hole (I seriiously doubt it for inspection)on the bellhousing. Stumped how to check the timing.

Suggestions?

Thanks for your time
