Discovered the problem. No fuel coming through. Opened up the lid to the float chamber and it was bone dry inside. Topped it up and the car fired straight away. The manifold was smoking hot after just a few seconds of running so I've advanced the timing slightly.

So what will the most likely cause of no fuel coming through? Fuel pump?

Could be. Connect another hose to the pump outlet to a container and crank the engine. Does it pump fuel?

If you have a helper just disconnect from the float camber and crank.

Not hard just make sure you read about the spacer down there. It is there for a reason.
