I've recently purchased a classic Mini City 500 or E, its a G reg and there are alot of indicators that say its a Mary Quant. Such as grey door handles, dark grey wheel arches and original interior seats underneath leatherette seat covers. However I am unsure if it is an original Mary Quant, before I start working on it I need to know. Can anyone help??

Our Park Lane has that on the log book as the model, so if genuine it should be stated on there.

Not all log books/V5 quote the 'Special/Limited Edition' model name......it depends on the how accurately the original dealer selling the car filled in the DVLA forms, many just quoted Rover Mini or similar.

G reg sounds late for a Designer. C. 1988-89 Minis had 'Nimbus' grey trim i.e. wheelarches, sill finishers, etc, even if a Mayfair, City etc.
See http://www.roblightb.../brochures.html for a Mini Designer brochure which will show you what a Designer should have (also there are City, Mayfair etc brochures on that site)
