right driving to a friends house and all of a sudden everything turs off. i mean total olss of power. so i looks around only to find the big live cable coming from the battery has somehow come uncliped from the floor and melted on the exhuast. how can i fix this???

wellits dead now. i need a new cable or can i just cut the melted bit out and put a new bit in?? will that work??

lots of amps going thro the wire to throw the starter.
don't think it would work. i head off to the local motor factors or GT down the high street and get a new cable made but mines fairly screwed anyway. i'd see how much it would cost for a new one 1st. then if its exspensve then do a quick fix.

one thick cable - DO NOT cut it and repair it! Get a new one!
