Not sure on 0-60, but the normally aspirated MG Metro had 74hp & the Turbo had 94hp, neither of them had a 5 speed box.

0-60 is supposed to be about 10 secs for the mg metro (non-turbo), the bhp on paper is 72 as standard. I fitted this as a cheap fix when my highly tuned 998 finally give up and all i can say is i don't know why i bothered with the 998 in the first place. Its a good all rounder and is capable of over 100mph, i find it really good on hills and the acceleration from 60mph upwards is awesome. If you aint got much cash and want a pretty quick mini this is you're best option.
P.s. i spent almost £1200 on my 998 to get 65bhp yet the £150 metro lump is 72!

Is this an easy swap?? Do the engine mounts meet up or would I have to alter things?? Also is the mg metro engine a carb engine??

yes it is a carb engine, all the mounts from the original engine will have to be swapped on to the mg lump but this is straight forward, you will need a multibranch manifold (like on a stage one kit) if you want to retain the mg carb setup. Other problems i had were the breather on the timing cover, i had to modify this with my trusty fbh (f****** big hammer) so that it would clear the fan, i also had to change the oil filter housing to the mini type from the original engine, the original metro igniton coil will also be needed but if you get a complete lump you'll get this anyway. i also changed the radiator to a two core type because it was overheating with the standard rad on.Is this an easy swap?? I think thats everything but i've probably missed sumat!
