Hello everyone and anyone,

In the immortal words of Sloth from the Goonies 'hey you guys'.

I have a 1996 Mini Cooper on a 'P'. It is a 1.3i. I was wondering if any one could tell me if it is a single point or multi point injection.

I was also wondering if anyone could let me know where I could pick up a Twin Centre Exit Exhaust (from the CAT back, with straight pipes not DTM) for a reasonable price.

I lookforward to hearing from you all. :proud:

Cheers, Kev.

1996 P is a boarderline reg plate between SPi and MPi. If you have the "1.3i" silver badge in the right hand side of your boot, usually its an SPi - MPi Coopers have Cooper or cooper Sport badges in the usual places.

The other way of finding out if open the bonnet. An SPi engine has a side mounted radiator, Ignition coil mid-engine located Distributor. The alternator is also placed as per carb models:

The MPi engine replaced the coil and distributor and introduced the ignition pack. The radiator was switched to a metro-like front mounted system with a reservoir tank. The alternator is also raised up to allow for room for the front mounted radiator:
